Hungary: Jewish delegation visits the European Parliament

The Unified Jewish Community of Hungary came to Brussels invited by the representatives of the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) and European Democrats. The Jewish delegation met with Hungarian members of parliament, including Szájer Joseph, Surján Laszlo Tamas Deutsch, Sógor Csaba. Among important visits there was also a meeting with a newly elected Vice President of the European Parliament Laszlo Tokes.
 
One of the main goals of the Hungarian delegation was the interreligious dialogue in Europe. The importance of coexistence of different religions and cultures in the local communities was stressed by the hosts – the European People's Party. In this respect, Hungarian members of parliament spoke of the Lisbon Treaty's role in maintaining the interreligious dialogue.
